somehow, seeing all my juniors grow up and become seniors and leaders is remarkably fulfilling. Makes me kinda feel that i've done at least one thing right in my 6 years here.

London and Paris have been a different sort of amazing, but i'm still a Singaporean at heart. Paris is prettier, but London still holds greater attraction for me. After the trip, my parents were converted to Adele fans! Her live songs are playing ever so occasionally now.

Honestly, I don't really get the point of watching a movie on the first day it comes out. Yes, it's Harry Potter and all, but watching on the first and last day that it's showing on doesn't make Harry any stronger, or Voldermort any more terrifying.

I guess it's also because I think the book series > movie series, and as such i've been pretty disappointed by the movies so far and have been looking forward to the the movie adaptation less and less every time round.

Imagination can't be beat, huh.

while it's already 1.10AM and I should be resting my ailing, feeble and frail body because of a sore throat and vicious cough have been decimating my epithelium cells (hahahaha), it's invariably at these sort of hours and nights where my blogging urges pricks at my consciousness. And conscience, because they go along the lines of "Are you going to let your blog which has accompanied you for 5-6 years go to waste??" And thus I am here because I am a sucker for guilt trips (actually not really. I can be cold-hearted at times)

At times like these, I really miss the 30ths. When I see my friends who were previously in PB and didn't join Council because they wanted a more simple, carefree life (probably devoted to mugging) I do think about whether I should've done that when I started out in JC. And till now, I have no regrets (:

It's just an inexplicable feeling, walking into school and the council room knowing that you have 80-160 other equally weird, fun-loving and accepting people around you. That feeling is just - amazing, and I bear the names of these wonderful people on my 30 shirt. (+ Josiah)

I'm ashamed to say that my buddy book still remains untouched, because sometimes I feel that texting's a lot faster than writing on a book and getting a reply a few days later and since both buddies seem to not mind texting, why not?

Speaking of which, I think I treat my buddies as my younger sisters now (: Even though Rain's taller than me HAHA. I'm pretty glad how things turned out, especially since the start it was always going to be difficult giving your heart to many people. I usually talk to them when i'm bored now and bug them about their lives in order to make up for some form of entertainment that I desperately crave. And if one doesn't reply i'll just go bother the other.

I like it this way, i've always wanted younger sisters. Don't think my mum would agreed, though.

Recently, i've concluded that I've become hugely anti-social. Haven't really been talking to many people much (and replying really slowly to SMSes, sorry) and for another first, i've been studying at home instead of holing myself up in the Council Room with another few hermit crabs.

I like studying at home. At least, I like studying in the living room (: My parents will hopefully regain their faith in my academic abilities (or lack of) once they see my hopefully better CT2 grades. Or they might see the aircon bill and disagree with me studying at home.

But I guess it's nice being alone for a while. Just realised how tempting school can be, especially with all the tennis courts and frisbees and soccer balls and...tennis balls.

What's more, you save money! Since you don't spend money eating because everything at home's provided. Just realised how blessed I am (:

There are some moments and some days in which you just wish that time would stop and repeat all over again. SYF's nearer than ever (1 day away now) and during warm-ups today I kept thinking about how this would be our second-last official practice for the J2s.

There are a hell lot of things i'm going to miss - the music, the beat that really gets into you when it starts, the people, the bimbo moments, the random camwhoring -

There are a lot of these times where I wish that A levels, uni apps, studies, etc didn't have to matter, and we didn't have to think ahead, plan for our future, look in front so much. There are these phases where I wish that things didn't have to move on, things didn't have to go along with time, things didn't have to change.

There are these instances where I look back to last year where we all started our dance journey together - sweet dreams, happy ending, dance night, momentum, laoshi pracs in the mini-lt (gosh it brought back so much memories) and albeit the darker moments where there were struggles in commitment and inevitable sacrifices that had to be made along the way..

Gosh, how am I ever going to survive Thursday. And Final Night. Things are going to suck after we step down ):

It's really quite entertaining to see the new batch of hopeful elects sacrifice their time, effort and hair (?) over the campaigning process. Or rather, the 12 hours of hell hahahahaha that involve little or no sleep at all due to the frenzied proposal-crafting and other what's nots.

Kinda miss the campaigning fever, along with DA (1 year anniversary!) and it really serves as a reminder of how quickly time has passed in the past year or so. Soon enough, we'll get our 31st buddy, then it'll be stepping down, then it'll be As and army...

Somehow at this point of time, I have a feeling that the SYF piece should mean more to me than it currently does. I can think of a thousand ways of how it reflects my life as it is now, but I can't seem to find the emotions to express it.

The past week has been - crazy.

I'm so glad it's over, and the results are as Weixuan said, are shocking. When I first heard it I was stupefied, in disbelief perhaps. But that quickly changed to ecstasy (not the drug mind you, but at that moment I wouldn't have needed it) as I realised how much they/we've accomplished.

It's not easy hearing from other people how our production was supposed to be the worst, the least prepared, the least intriguing. It's not easy either, hearing about organizational and directorial problems from students and teachers alike.

Amidst all that though, I'm glad I believed in MR DF 2011 :) You guys pulled through to the very end.

Thank you directors for putting in your life and soul into the entire production - from the preparation of the script to the actual blocking and other stuff that you guys managed to accomplish (: Even though you guys had your conflicts, i'm immensely glad (and relieved) to see that you guys managed to work things out and resolve pressing issues in the end. Very maturely, I must say!

Thank you cast for all your nights and tears that were spent in the course of these few weeks - it must've been difficult working on a play like this, and you guys had to sacrifice a lot of your weekends and free time for this event. I've really seen all of you improve A LOT, and I hope you all will bring this experience back next year and perhaps tell Raffles Players that we shan't need to return the pretty trophy just yet.

Thank you crew for all your undying optimism and willingness to do saikang! Being in your position last year, I understand how tough it can be sometimes, and this small gesture is just to show how much you all are really appreciated by MR :D you guys may not get the glory of stage time, but I hope you guys are proud of what you all have done! Without your help this wouldn't have been able to take off, really.

That aside, kudos goes out to all the crashers like Weixuan, Kyung Tae, Joey, Seng Henk and the others who stepped out of their way to come down to help :) Your contributions have really really really helped us accomplish what we did.

In the end, regardless of the position we got, I hope you all had a friggin' blast of an experience during Dramafest 2011 :) You all have helped us end off IHC Aesthetics with the best possible result, and I'm honestly relieved and super grateful to everyone of you.

I'm immensely grateful for my House Directorate and House Committee for always covering for me when i'm not around and for always being ever-so-dependable to the extent that I get worried about them not-asking-me-about-stuff-because-they-got-everything-settled.

It's kinda ironic in a way, but yes, then I realize that they've done everything else already, and I don't have to worry anymore.

I guess it's been pretty unfair to MR for the past IHC week or so, with all the pairing up between houses and discrepancies in rules for some events that weren't sent out. It's not a very nice feeling to be last - for a few hours on Monday I was avoiding the canteen maybe just to fool myself that we weren't in 5th place.

It's really unfair when people come up to my House D members and say, "We're 5th??! What are you guys doing?"

(At this point of time and emotional state, i'd tell him to screw off, seriously. For the sake of the internet users, I will not utilize any unkind words at this moment. Screw off is a very good euphemism for what I have in mind.)

It's unfair to us if someone says that to us because I don't think 5th place shows any form of reflection of the effort that all 7 (assuming you count Weixuan as 1 entity) of us has put into the past IHC week or so. It's not like we lacked members for anything, it's not like we didn't source hard enough for participants, it's not like we decided to sit back and throw in the towel for different events. All of us put in our heart and soul into IHC, and looking back I don't really know what we could've done to make anything better.

Sometimes we've already tried, and the results are entirely not up to us. I know that results aren't everything, but when you have 1/5 of the school population to answer to, sometimes it does.

Anyway, to my beloved House D (I think only Weixuan knows the existence of this blog) i'm really blessed to have been working with all of you motivated individuals (:

There are a lot of things to mull over, a lot of things to ask God why they didn't turn out the way you want them to be, and a lot of things to catch up on: dance, schoolwork, etc.

For now though, I just feel like curling up and sleeping for as long as possible.

Today i've learned a lot!

From the J1s' spirit, the level of organization, and the maybe the fact that sometimes we plan events just for the sake of planning them and then we forget that who we're planning it for so much so that we totally miss the point of planning it.

I think I caught a little bit of that as the party grew on though - and even though the party wasn't as high as I would've liked it to be, i'm glad to have worked with an amazing bunch of dedicated people who have really stepped out of their comfort zone and stressed out over everything.

There's a lot of things to improve on obviously, and I just can't help feeling responsible for all the house events that's going on. Something about liability and responsibility is resonating, apparently.

For now, sleep sounds like a good idea. (: There's been too much to think about lately.

and I guess while half of us are frolicking around today with their significant others, the other half are probably feeling a little bit more left out, some more defiantly so (by joining Be Alone Day-s and other similar movements proclaiming solidarity in independence and what's not)

at least school's going to be vibrant tomorrow (: it'll be fun to see who gives what to who (tsk, OGlings.)

Alternatively if you've nothing to do, you can go around Orchard Road tomorrow and see who's going out with who and stalk them >8D How positively incriminating-fying.

it's 12.48AM, and I should really be getting enough rest for O'Nite and Day 4 of Orientation tomorrow.

As D'elchanto draws to a close, I guess I can't help reminiscing about the past 3 days and how they flew by remarkably fast, even by my standards of time. Which is pretty dayum fast, which probably means that for the past few days we've been having the time of our lives.

I don't really want to go back to lessons, nor do I want this to end.

But I realised that D'elchanto, or Orientation rather, never ends because the batch that goes through this experience carries something special in them - something magical that can only be passed down from batch to batch, from generation to generation. In this same manner, G'alvea has never ended, nor has Z'kardia or the older Orientation programs.

Year 5s, I hope D'elchanto has been for you an amazing time of your life. (:

I think one of the reason why I like dance so much is because once you start moving, everything doesn't matter anymore.

You can be whoever you wanna be onstage, and perhaps you can even fool yourself into believing that your problems aren't as big as they seem.

It's a little bit late to be doing New Year's resolutions, but since I haven't made any for the past 2 years or so (I always said i'd do them, and guess where procastination led me) I guess i'd make a little bit of an exception this year.

1. Grow closer to God this year and participate more actively in church which was something I didn't do that well in J1)

2. No regrets! 'Nuff said.

2. Do something stupid, but have no regrets about it :)

Of course, this doesn't mean i'm going skydiving or anything anytime soon!

And I realised that this blog is becoming a little bit more like a recluse. Facebook statuses just receive too much viewership and annoyances sometimes.

Helping out with MMM was really fun (:

I think it was really really really refreshing to work with RPA parents with the food and preparation and all - they were really cute and enthusiastic about serving dinner to the J2s (who mainly seemed to take it for granted btw) which really made the entire experience super super fun and even though all of us were super fun at the end of it I think we all had a whale of a time :D

I think their spirit's really admirable! Really gives us all something to think about, especially in what's left of the 30ths term ahead.

I think my blog's transformed over the past year or so, from recounts to merely a place to echo my thoughts. Facebook's becoming too public - too many friends too many unforgiving faces and too many pretences to put up as a figurehead and all.

Finally took it off MSN! It's still on my facebook though so it's not completely private per say, but I guess I still do have this inner desire for self-gratification and attention and for people/random strangers to read my blog :)

Sorry if my posts are really a lot shorter now! They don't always make sense, but to me they do. (hahahahaha)

I'm glad I took a break today though, my parents celebrated their 25th anniversary along with their other friends. It was really touching and amusing to find out that my father skipped lectures/tuition to see my mum hahaha. I'm not really too concerned about whether people could use against me (in fact if you look really closely, in which you shouldn't there's a lot of bad stuff that I said/did hahahah) because that's really the past and what's over is over.

A friend of mine told me that's how guys think, like what's done is done and no point talking about it anymore, and I guess that's a good thing sometimes.

Somehow since 2006 a lot of things have happened, such as me growing taller (believe it or not!), and getting a sense of the world (a little) and how people's mind work. I'm quite amused at how this blog turned out, with the uber immature blog url that's just stuck on and never changed it since.

we leave the past behind, but we remember the people that we've met, for better or for worse.
